That new blog smell

I've been doing a lot of thinking about the direction of where I want this site to go. In doing so, I have made some amazing friends and unbelievable contacts as I ask my fellow reviewers questions. One of my first was, "What in the world is a blog hop!?" While not everything is completely clear, I do have a couple of ideas floating around.
I also just want to take this time and say that I am NOTHING without all of you. Your knowledge is golden and friendships are irreplaceable.
Mushy time is over now.
So what can you expect to see here at Behind the Rows in the near future? Well, I have lined up a couple of guests for a post or two. I hope to have a couple of giveaways as soon as the number of followers rises a little bit. I'm also looking for a graphic artist to revamp the look.
As some of you may already know, I am a huge supporter of indie or small published books. I think it takes guts to put yourself out there like that. We all know that authors such as Stephen King, James Patterson, and Nora Roberts can sell books in their sleep. Even bad ones. Anyone else read Cell? That's all I'm saying. So, I was delighted when I met an author by the name of Rachel Wells who is currently promoting her first book Enchanted and is holding a contest. The lucky winner will be written in as a character in her new and follow up book. You can read more about that here. I also plan on having a review and perhaps an interview or guest post up soon, so stay tuned.
I also want to start a weekly thing of reviewing a book alongside it's movie. I know, I know... the movie is never as good. Sometimes I disagree and would love to hear some of my followers ideas on the topic as well.
See! Big and exciting things are coming this way. I can't wait to get started and I hope you enjoy the journey as well. What would you like to see more of around here? Am I completely off my rocker? Possibly, but I hope it entertains you.

being off your rocker is always entertaining, looking forward to it
I pretty sure you crack me up :).
I think your weekly movie/book idea is a great one. And I agree that the book isn't always better. (ie: The Godfather - IMHO).
I've been toying with the idea of addressing the book vs movie connection also. Maybe you could make it a meme and other bloggers could post about their favorite adaptations or least favorite (I'm talking to you Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, don't hide) and link back to you.
Speaking of which, I started a meme to spotlight 5 of my favorite books each week Friday. I would love it if you want to join us.

I would love reading about some indie book reviews. Just nothing like twilight ;)
Visiting from the Newbie Blog Hop. I love your site! I love to read and the selection of books on your blog is exciting. Keep up the great work!
