Night Road
Kristin Hannah
5/5 stars. I wish I had more to give!
Earth shattering is the only way I can describe how I felt while reading this book. I cried like a baby from early on till the final page. Every character was carefully written to where I felt them beyond the pages.
Lexi has seen enough sorrow in her life at the age 14 than most adults ever will. So when the Farraday's welcomed her into their lives she believed her luck had changed.
Jude is the PTA mom that lives and breathes for her family. Nothing in her life is out of order and she always strives to achieve the best. To be honest, I really wanted to strangle her by her pearls a couple of times.
Jude's twin children, Mia and Zach, are on a clear road to college and success. Lexi is more than happy to share their happiness. With Zach and Lexi in love and a best friend in Mia, life is moving in the fast lane. Parties, love, drinking and graduation are all within reach.
Tragedy hits close to home one night that will change all of their lives. So many mistakes in the matter of one night that can never be changed. Like I said, bawled like a baby. I found that this brought forward a bunch of emotions and me thinking, "What if?" Could I forgive and move on? Would I do as Jude did and break down completely?
Kristin Hannah dug in deep with this one and really dealt with issues that are both tough to talk about and to read. There wasn't sugarcoating or fairytale words in this story, but in the end it was expertly brought together in a beautiful ending. This story is beyond words.

I've never heard of this book, now I'm intrigued. Thank you for stopping by the PJV today. I really appreciate it. I'm your #10. XOXO
I actually picked it up on a whim. One of those rare books that I actually went out and bought. Let me know if you read it and I hope to see your thoughts on it soon.
Thanks for stopping by! ~Amanda
